Danielle Thorn is a freelance filmmaker who resides in Toronto, Canada. In 2013, she graduated on the Dean’s List from Loyalist College’s Television and New Media Production program, and began her freelance career after completing her internship on the award winning series “Out with Dad.”
From 2014-2017 Danielle co-produced, shot, edited, and created motion graphics for an educational short form documentary series for children called “Cranium Cookie,” think Popular Mechanics for Kids meets The Magic School Bus. This show received the IAWTV Award for Best Educational/Documentary Series in 2015.
From 2018-2019, Danielle was the cinematographer and editor as well as the writer (for two episodes) of a short form series called Just Hysterics. This project received Official Selection status at TO WebFest in 2018, as well as at New York’s Stareable Fest in 2020, which led to distribution through the Stareable Channel as well as the Roku Channel.
Between 2020 and 2024 Danielle primarily focused on editing due to the pandemic, and between 2022 and 2024 she edited ten episodes of series that aired on networks such as OutTV, Super Channel, Prime Video and more.
In 2026 she is now focused on crafting narratives through shooting and editing.
Danielle is an associate member of the Canadian Cinema Editors (CCE).

Danielle fills roles such as camera operator, videographer, and cinematographer. She is the owner of a Sony FX3, DJI RS4 Pro Combo Kit, a DJI Mavic Air 2 Combo, and is the holder of a drone license.

With over fifteen years worth of editing experience, Danielle is able to craft a compelling narrative, edit an eye catching sizzle reel, and deliver in a timely manner.

Over the past decade, Danielle has transferred thousands of cards across narrative, documentary, and reality. After juggling cards from ten cameras on a reality series, everything else feels easy.
